When milliseconds make the difference in becoming a National hero or living with a lifetime of regret, preparation is paramount!   It's every Olympic hopeful's dream to have their name forever imbedded in the record books and establishing their place in history!!  It's no wonder the countless hours of training and preparing for what might only be the briefest of moments has evolved into what it is today.  At the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, the latest in exercise science and technology is used to give our athletes that millisecond advantage needed to become legendary!!

Workout like an Olympian-

Building Agility, Strength, and Power:

Yokebar Training System- Helps build "core" strength, flexibility, and "functional strength"- Muscle for specific athletic movement.

Agility Ladder- This isn't really a new training secret, however, ways in which the ladder can be used is always subject to new variations.  This simple device helps build foot speed, leg strength, aerobic stamina, and, of course agility.

Tabata Training
- This style of training increases anaerobic power and burns calories.  Alternate between 20 seconds of effort and 10 seconds of rest for 4 minutes while doing exercises like push-ups, squats, or med ball slams, or while running, jumping rope, rowing, or biking.

Tornado Ball- Boost explosive power by using a medicine ball attached to a rope (you may have seen them by now...they've become fairly popular).  Stand with feet parallel and knees apart, swing the ball in a circle over-head 20 times in each direction.

Fundamentals Meet The Future:

Wattbikes
- Learn how to improve your cycling power form by being analyzed by a Wattbike.

Zero Gravity Treadmill- Have an injury?  Continue to train on one of these weightless treadmills...called AlterG, which literally alters gravity to near zero.  It's meant to help people who are recovering from knee or hip injuries continue to train their muscles without putting pressure on their joints.  You step into a pair of rubber shorts and zip yourself into a huge rubber skirt, which then fills with air like a bladder, creating an almost weightless running experience that allows both the injured and the healthy to train without impact.  Oh and by the way, one of these bad boys costs approximately $75,000.

Mental Conditioning:

Stress Inoculation
- Inducing stress so that when athletes face the real thing, they're able to handle it....Have an upcoming 5k race, triathlon, or tennis match?  Reduce anxiety for the event by imagining different game-day scenarios - it's extra loud, your shoelaces come untied, it's raining, you win - during your daily training the week before to help you prepare mentally and be more relaxed.

  1. Not long time ago, I personally followed a flexibility training program at http://www.personaltrainertoronto.com and it really helped me a lot. For example, this program improved my flexibility, decreased risk of injury also improved my posture and structural balance. Because of these great results, I highly recommend this program!

  2. The libido of men can be down due to various reasons.

Today impotence has turned out to be one of the common issues
for men. Then again, the tension he is sensing can
shortly influence his confidence and might very easily turn to
stress with regards to his intimate sexual contact.
